More Last Minute Tops To Dominate Q4

Happy Sunday! I’m writing this from the plane back from Austin, Texas where I was for the weekend and I indulged in way too much barbeque, tacos, and more. Austin is definitely one of my favorite cities in the country and somewhere hopefully I can spend more time. Last week I talked about some last-minute black Friday tips and people loved it, so I’m back with more today. If you can believe it, Q4 is just days away so here are some last minute Q5 tactical tips.

Build Your List

I’ve been talking about filling your funnel a lot lately, which is mostly centered around upper funnel video campaigns. But I think there’s also tons of value in building your email list with lead-gen opportunities. You can run ads to a signup page announcing launches/promos are coming and also send organic traffic from social as well. I don’t recommend giveaways to build your list, but outside of that you should push hard to build your list. We’re even running ads optimizing towards people taking our quiz as a geo lift test right now which will further help us.

Raise Your Affiliate Commissions

Hopefully you already have a well-functioning affiliate program, both for creators and publishers. Now is the time of the year to get aggressive and tell them about your commission increase. The increase in volume you get should outweigh the reduced margin.

Email Unengaged Subscribers

In addition to growing your list, you probably have plenty of people on your list who you should try to get back into your consideration funnel in time. You can create a few segments of people who used to engage with your emails but have since stopped and try to build top of funnel emails designed not to get them to buy, but just to get them to open them or click to your site. You should do this for both previous customers who stopped engaging as well as non-customers. This will get them into yory general list sends during the holiday and BFCM period without hurting deliverability by opening up too wide then.

Get Your Ad Creative In Time

It's not too late (but it almost is) to get all of your ad creative needs in time. Listen, I'm guility of this too. I don't have my best ideas until the final moments when I guess I'm more in the holiday scale spirit. There's always one or two concepts I think will be great that I didn't originally think of. So if you have ideas like those, or if you just want to dial in your creatives then I reccomend Insense. Consider Insense your one stop shop for all your creator content needs. In one place you can find creators that are pre-vetted, brief them, pay, get whitelisting access, and more. It's got to be the most efficient way to get all of this done for high quality. There's a reason hundreds of brands turn to Insense when they have ad creative needs. To get high-quality UGC for Q4 quickly, book a call with Insense here and get $200 off your first campaign. Cross Pollinate between Email, SMS, and Social

Create a segment of people who are on your email list but are not on your SMS list. Then create a little footer for your upcoming campaigns that pushes to them to give you their phone number in exchange for getting early access, or similar. Push the landing page on social in stories as well. Every little bit counts.

Get Your Website Speed Up

Hopefully you've tested and found some big CRO wins leading up to the peak season. Consider a code freeze in the weeks leading up to BFCM. But once your content is all dialed in, I suggest going for a site speed optimization. We use Nostra AI for ours. Folow best praxtices, which could be a whole issue here like image compression, lazy loading ,etc.

Partner Of The Week - BFCM is peak season for eCom but it's also peak season for fraud. According to Mastercard, eCommerce fraud spiked by 35% during last year's BFCM period. To combat this, we use Chargeflow at JRB. They just created "The Ultimate Fraud Prevention Checklist for BFCM" to help you get prepared so you can keep all of those hard-earned sales. In the guide, you can learn how to measure, track, and protect against fraud, plus get actionable step by step guides for preventing fraud. This might not be the sexy part of e-com but I guarantee you this will be worth your while. Download the checklist here get prepared against fraud before BFCM.

Have a great rest of your Sunday night and have a great week ahead!

Happy Sunday! Less than 2 weeks until the biggest month of the year, let's go. October is fun because it's equal parts Q3 wrap-up, Q4 execution, and next year planning so it feels like a crazy month. As a result, I'm extra swamped so I'm gonna do something different today. As you likely know I'm part of Marketing Operators podcast, and together with Operators pod we send a weekly newsletter, created by the legend Aaron Orrendorf. The most recent issue was me sharing my tech stack at JRB, with...

Happy Monday! Hope everyone has had a great long weekend. I'm flying home from California where I was here speaking at CreatorIQ conference and then chilling for a few days in CA. The Creator IQ conference was excellent, so I wanted to share a few of my big takeaways. Creator/influencer is going to be a bigger focus for us next year so that was one of the reasons we went. Lets dive in. Creator vs Brand Content On a whole, creator content is on the rise and branded content is trending down....

Happy Sunday! Q4 is here and I can already tell it’s going to be an action packed one. This month we’re coming up on Jones Road’s 4th year anniversary. Around any milestone I like to do some thinking and reflecting. I’m not great at it because I’m usually heads down in trying to drive growth and don’t stop to reflect on how far we’ve come in such a short time. So I make myself do so at any big occasions like end of the year, or an anniversary. If you still need ad creative for Q4 or BFCM,...
